Key Responsibilities:

  • Preoperative Assessment & Preparation: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments of patients, including medical history review, physical exams, and patient education to ensure they are fully prepared for surgery. 
  • Intraoperative Care: Assist the surgical team during procedures by managing the sterile field, preparing surgical instruments, and providing direct patient care. Monitor patient vitals and respond quickly to any changes in condition.

  • Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate throughout the surgical process, ensuring their needs are met and they are treated with dignity and respect. 
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care. 
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic health record (EHR) system and comply with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
